In the eyes of the world a servant is lesser than and treated poorly. In the eyes of the Lord a servant is just the opposite. If you look in the scriptures you will find that those who are described as servants are the prophets, apostles, disciples, and others. I think about the possibility of being described as a Servant of the Lord and be put in that same category as amazing individuals like Moses, Abraham, Job, Mary, Nephi, Joseph Smith, and Thomas S. Monson. Simple acts of service can do so much if the time is put forth to do them. Even something as simple as a smile can change the entire day of someone else.
Last week I was in charge of the Service Activity. This year at EFY we are knitting hats for infants who are born into situations with nothing. I feel privileged to be a part of this great work every single week. We are able to knit around 200 hats a week...and yes the boys knit too.
I have always loved the opportunity to serve because I have found that by serving I forget all my silly problems...that sometimes take over my life...and not only help others but find happiness in the midst of distress. Service is the easiest way to bring true joy into your life. I have been privileged to be on my ward's service committee and have been able to plan and participate in a big service project every month. I really hope that this habit of service continues in my life. My Savior spent His whole life in service of others and I can get closer to Him be following His example.

I love reading your thoughts always! Thanks for being such a great example to me and so many people!
You make it look so effortless to be kind. So I'm very pleased that you're still willing to consider me as your friend.
I had lots of fun serving with you. I ended up making/fixing/finishing around 15 - 17 hats probably. I couldn't have done it without you, and the others encouragement and assistance.
And its true... Serving others just makes you so much happier :)
It was an amazing experience.
(And you're awesome :)
