Backpacking Europe Summer Adventure - Loch Lomond, Scotland

We were truly sad to leave Edinbrough but were excited to see more of Scotland.  I have a dear friend who served a mission for the LDS church in Scotland and she so wonderfully connected us with the nicest Scotish man, Willie.  I called him over Skype and it was immediately like we were old friends.  He was so wonderful to meet us at the bus station in Glasgow and take care of us all day long.  The day was overcast and drizzly but we didn't care because we were spending it on a private boat getting to see all parts of Loch Lomond.

I had one of the craziest experiences riding in the driver's side of the car but not having a steering wheel or peddles.  I guarantee I would get in a million accidents if I were to try to drive with everything opposite like that.

We arrived at the port where a bunch of private boats were docked at their buoys including Willie's.  He paddled his little dingy out to his boat and brought it back to the dock for us.  We climbed in and had an amazingly, enjoyable, beautiful ride on a famous lake in Scotland.  Dream come true!

After a good couple hours on the lake, we docked at the cutest village where we enjoyed an amazing lunch and walk.

After getting back to the car, Willie continued to drive us around and show us the area.  He made sure to show us the canals which have great meaning and memories for he and his sweet wife.

It was such a wonderful day full of great conversation with the cutest old man with the greatest accent.  The day ended back at the bus stop waiting for our very late over night bus to London.
