The last few months have been full of change, some sad goodbyes, and some great hellos. I started my Master's program at the end of April and learned to manage my time very differently. I was still teaching every day from 7am-3pm but then on Tuesday and Thursday I would go to class from 4pm-9pm. The other evenings were busy reading, researching, and writing...or in other words doing homework. Different from grading homework and quite honestly somewhat refreshing. I forgot how much I love learning and oddly how much I love being a student. My classmates are absolutely fabulous and have already become good friends that will make this next year even more enjoyable.
But by choosing to go back to school I chose to stop teaching...again. After my first three years of teaching I tried to find a different career path and thought I would never go back to teaching. However, the Lord knew better and He blessed me with a teaching job the last two years that I have found I love. It was hard to say goodbye. I have really grown to love the students and my colleagues and my classroom. I never expected that to happen. I am honored by all the thank you cards from students I received and all the students complaining that I will not be back next year. I don't always feel like the best teacher so any small thank you means A LOT!!! I already miss my students. Just look at these faces, how could you not love them?
Oh, and proof that I have the greatest friends in the world, I came home one day to this:
