Gotta Go Back, Back, Back To School Again...

I have to gratefully and humbly admit that I am one of the lucky few who has landed a job in this crazy economy. I feel very appreciative to my Heavenly Father who has blessed me beyond measure and has led to on a path that feels VERY right! Coming home from Russia I wasn't sure what my next adventure would entail. I was debating a big move across the country and was looking for jobs that really had nothing to do with teaching. But the Lord showed me that my strengths, joys, and experience all revolve around teaching. So after MUCH thought and prayer, I have come to conclude that I need to get a Master's Degree in Education Leadership to obtain certification to be an administrator. Yes, that means I want to be a principal. Crazy, eh? (That also means I have to take the GRE. NASTY! Not a fan. I've been studying all month and have come to the conclusion that there is no possible way to fully prepare.)

As soon as I made that discovery (not about the GRE), I opened myself up to applying for teaching jobs and immediately found an opening at a great high school. I applied, was asked to interview a few days later, and was called around 10 minutes after leaving the interview to be offered the job. Everything fell into place so perfectly that I have no doubt the Lord had His hand in the matter.

I am excited for this position...oddly enough...and have been trying for the last couple months to get myself ready. It has been hard because I am still learning so much about what is available at the school and what is not. I was also not able to get into my classroom for quite a while because the teacher who used the room last year hadn't moved out. I finally got in this week and have been trying to make it mine. My wonderful sister helped me to put up some pictures. It is still a work in progress but this is where I am at now:

I want to come visit your classroom - Maybe a day in September when I'm not working.

Congrats on the job! Which high school? The size of that classroom looks intimidating, but not as much as what a principal position would be...you'd make a great one!

So cool that your brother's family live in Fishers. I'm pretty sure they'd be in our stake; we're in Carmel. Sounds like you need to come out and visit him soon...
