Easter 2009

Easter continues to be one of my favorites holidays. It stems from many great childhood traditions and memories. This year I was not able to go home but my amazing sister gave me a little piece of home by inviting me over on Saturday and letting me take part in her cute family's celebrations. My cousin, Rachel also joined us which was so much fun.

We enjoyed some family chat time while being entertained by my adorable niece and nephew. In fact, my nephew was so excited to hide eggs in the front yard for Rachel and me. I'm pretty sure he was more excited when we'd find one than we were. AND to make things even better, we continued to search only to find adorable Easter Baskets with our names on them full of the candy from my childhood. I LOVE IT!!After dinner, we colored Easter Eggs. Treyson and Chloee had a hay day! I'm not sure if their hands or eggs were more colored. Let's just say spoons were not needed to snatch the eggs from the cups.

Rachel and I each got one egg to claim our own. I took the defect that cracked in the boiling process. It looked like it had a nose or maybe a tumor. I got pretty serious in my design. So much fun!And of course, we ended the evening with traditional strawberry shortcake...YUMMY!! Thank you so much Britt for a perfect Easter!
