I got home from a long day of work Friday night to an empty house and a pile of dirty clothes. I turned on the TV to entertain me while I did laundry and was confused whether I should watch a scary movie or a sappy movie. I decided upon "Singin' in the Rain" and I'm not disappointed in my choice.
And of course, Valentine's Day is stereotyped as a bad day for those of us who are alone. It is ironically known as Singles Awareness Day or S.A.D. But I have to disagree with the "dread" of the day because although I am very much aware of my singleness, I'm not sad about it. I have had many opportunities and experiences that I would never have been able to have if circumstances were different. And I have been able to meet so many amazing people who have taught me a lot and shaped me into the person I am. Most of whom I would never have crossed paths with if I was not single. In short, Singles Awareness Day is NOT S.A.D! So let's go back to celebrating Valentine's Day and focus on it being a day to celebrate all LOVE not simply a significant other. I am blessed to be surrounded by many people I love, both near and far. I have a lot of love to celebrate and feel grateful for this day...but more grateful for each of YOU who are the people I love!!
HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH/VALENTINE'S DAY/PRESIDENT'S DAY!!
